  1. HideMe! - Desktop Icon Hider
  2.  
  3. Tired of those pesky icons sitting on your beautiful wallpaper and
  4. messing up the scene?  Although you can remove most icons, some icons
  5. (e.g. local and network) insist on remaining on the desktop and marring
  6. the view.  With HideMe! you can safely hide the icons from view and
  7. still let them exist on the desktop.  HideMe! creates a small window
  8. that sits on TOP of those icons and then grabs the picture underneath
  9. the icons and paints itself with that image.  The icons then appear to
  10. disappear!  The window remains in the bottom of the z order (that means
  11. it stays behind all other windows on the screen.  The hidden window can
  12. be toggled on and off via the tray icon of the eyeball.  Left clicking
  13. the eyeball will toggle the icons visibility on and off.  Right clicking
  14. the icon will bring up a small menu that allows you to adjust the size
  15. that will be covered.  The program always locked so it cannot be moved
  16. and always appears in the upper left hand corner. (So if you want to hide
  17. your icons move them to the upper left corner.)  If you change the 
  18. wallpaper background you can left click the window itself and it will
  19. redraw itself to the new image.  You can simply add this program to 
  20. your startup and say goodbye to cluttered screens! This program is 
  21. freeware.

  28. Added feature "auto detect" to allow it to recognize that the wallpaper has changed and update
  29. or if turned off will not update automatically.  This change due to the program getting messages
  30. about screen changes and updating while starting some directx programs and keeping those programs
  31. from displaying properly.  Added "save settings" to ensure that settings are saved.  In some
  32. cases they were not being saved when the user exited the program but hopefully that has all been
  33. dealt with.
